The USG FORTOCRETE structural panel is a non-combustible, high-strength, fiberglass reinforced cement panel designed for use in load bearing cold-formed steel construction. USG FORTOCRETE cuts like wood panels and fastens with conventional tools. There is no cure or set time, the structural panels become the structural sub-floor as soon as they are fastened. They contain no wood, are mold resistant, impervious to rot and repellent to pests such as termites.
Lighter than pre-cast or poured concrete, USG FORTOCRETE panels can significantly reduce the overall weight of a mid-rise building, thereby lowering material costs.
The framing trade installs USG FORTOCRETE structural panels. There is no offsite waiting for forming, shoring, pouring and curing. The same contractor who installs the load-bearing walls installs the sub-floor, which translates directly into a faster, simpler schedule with potential for significant labor savings.
As a light noncombustible panel, the USG FORTOCRETE structural panel is ideal for panelizing or modular manufacturing.
